The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 9th that it held the 'Startup Pitching Contest Linked to the Climate Industry International Fair' on the 8th at the Coex Startup Branch in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
This event was organized in connection with the Climate Industry International Fair, set to take place in Busan on the 25th. It aimed to identify startups with innovative technologies in the energy sector, including energy efficiency, clean energy, and carbon reduction technologies.
Out of 49 applicant companies, four were selected after document evaluations and presentations. These selected startups will receive exhibition opportunities at the Climate Industry International Fair as well as cash prizes. KITA plans to link them with various support projects necessary for attracting investment. The grand prize was awarded to ‘Eldicarbon,’ a startup producing circular resource materials. It received high marks for its eco-friendly product, which manufactures carbon black from waste tires, allowing for a closed-loop system where the materials can be reused in tire and rubber products.
Gauss Lab, a developer of renewable energy generation prediction solutions, along with eco-friendly small-scale manufacturing company Vincen and Terrablock, which possesses technology for producing recycled terephthalic acid, each received Excellence Awards.
